A Home on the Field

In his new book, TIME reporter Paul Cuadros highlights the struggles of a group of Latino students at a small southern high school to start up their own soccer team and win acceptance — both on the field and off.

My son's team played this team (Siler City NC team Jordan-Matthews HS) the year they won the State 1A Championships. I haven't read this book yet, but I plan to ASAP.

Just finished reading it - great book. Was fun reading about all the NC soccer stuff in a book like that. NCYSA office politics, club vs high school soccer, etc. Plus he included a lot of insights as a coach in addition to everything related to Latinos and their integration into the small town South. Writing up a review now - great suggestion!
